One of the strangest and most troubling passages of Scripture is found in Genesis 22, where God tells Abraham to sacrifice his one and only son Isaac. If you grew up in church, you know God did not let Abraham go through with this, but this episode is easy to misunderstand if we don’t read it carefully. In today’s class we look at some of the subtle clues in the text to see what this story tells us about God, and how this story ultimately points to Jesus.
