Kings Crossing Youth Ministry

KXY meets for class after Worship on Sunday mornings, as well as Wednesday nights at 6:00 PM.

“Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.”

1 Timothy 4:7

KXY Mission Statement

  • Theme Verse: “Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” (1 Tim. 4:7-8 [ESV])
  • Mission Statement
    • Kings Crossing Youth (KXY) is all about “training for godliness” (1 Tim. 4:7).  KXY serves to grow your teens relationship with God and with Family. At KXY, we study the Word of God faithfully and in depth. We strive to seek out the truths of God’s word and live out those truths in service. Love is at the core of what we do at KXY.  Our love does not push anyone away, but it opens the door as a place for refuge.
  • Foundation:
    • Relationships: Relationships are the foundation of life and the foundation of the KXY ministry.              “A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” (Eccl. 4:12)
    • Relationships are the most important aspect in a teenager’s life.  KXY focuses on the three most important relationships: God, Family, and Friends.
      • God: The foundation of our relationships is God.  It is by God and for God that we are able to do anything.  Our relationship with God is the most important aspect of our lives. Growing our relationship with God is at the core of everything KXY does.
        • “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.” (Mt. 6:33)
      • Family: Family is the next most important relationship in our lives. Family is the core unit of life.  Everybody comes from a family and has a family whether it be physical or spiritual. BOTH of these families are essential to the spiritual growth of our Teens.
        • “Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” (Deut. 6:7 [NIV])
      • Friends: Lastly, but most certainly not least, are the relationships we have with other people. Friends are meant to cry with each other, laugh with each other, build each other up, and correct each other.  Who we hang out with can shape who we become.
        •  “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” (Prov. 13:20 [ESV])
  • Pillars:
    • Word of God: The Word of God is the first pillar of KXY. The Bible enables us to learn more about our Creator and his love for us.  KXY does not shy away from studying the Bible. The Bible is an essential part to our classes and the core of what we believe at KXY.
      • “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Tim. 3:16-17 [NIV])
    • Service: Jesus’s final command to his disciples was “Go” (cf. Mt. 28:19). KXY seeks to be a part of God’s kingdom, as well as the Corpus Christi community. KXY is there to serve God’s creation whether it be his people or the world that surrounds us.
      • “But someone will say, ‘You have faith; I have deeds.’ Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.” ( James 2:18 [NIV])
    • Love: Love is at the core of Jesus’s ministry.  Love is something that lasts through the good times and bad times.  KXY seeks to portray the Love of God. KXY seeks to love all who come in through our doors. We believe that love of God has the ability to accept everybody and help us through our sins.
      • “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.” (1 Cor. 13:4 [NIV])
    • Refuge: The final pillar of KXY is refuge.  KXY seeks to be a safe place for everybody.  Our youth room and group seeks to be a place of rest.  Jesus calls to him not to burden us and over work us, but to give us rest.
      • “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Mt. 11:28-30 [NIV])
