Series Dates: Fall 2017
Synopsis:
Through his parables, Jesus subverts the world as we understand it. Nothing is as it seems. The least become the greatest. The poorest are found rich. Jesus rooted his teaching in the real places we occupy. The Kingdom of God is going to be found in our households, in our work places, and in our market places or it's not going to be found at all. The Kingdom of God is near, and it shows up in surprising ways. Through these disruptive parables, Jesus helps us to release our previous understanding of how things are so that we can grasp a deeper understanding of what God is doing in the world.
