A Time to Wait

In God’s story, there are no minor characters. Every person matters. In this part of Abraham’s life, we see God’s tenderness toward the slave girl Hegar. She was both seen and heard, and ultimately blessed by God’s mercy. When we feel like an outsider, we can find encouragement from Hegar’s story.

A Time to Trust

Even the best of us have lapses of character. Abraham was no exception. The promises of God are true, regardless of how we feel about them, but living into them leads to blessing. This is true not only for us, but for the world around us. Rather than living in a fog of ambiguity, we serve God best when we stand on his promises and live openly as his followers.

A Time to Step Out

Isn’t it about time you did something with yourself? God invites Abram to leave behind all that he had known to step into a future of adventure and deep blessings. The costs were significant, but the rewards were worth the price of trust.

Face to Face

In this final part of our Walking in Truth series, we close out the letter of 2 John. John has shown us the deep value of doing good whenever we’re able, of showing caution with who we allow to influence us. Now he invites us to remember the supreme value of face-to-face Christian unity.

From Assurance to Diligence

Jesus was fully human. Jesus was fully divine. So is our mission to make Earth more like Heaven. 2 John warns about those who would steer us into one ditch or another of ignoring the human or divine aspects of the invitation to mission that we’ve received from God.

Be Found Doing Good

All of us will be seen and known in ways that might surprise us. With this being the case, we may as well be found doing something good! John shows us that it is an old commandment that continues to renew us in surprising ways when we make it our priority: Love one another!

Lean Into Love

With this lesson, we begin a study of 2 John. Despite the many unwanted guests who want free rent in our hearts and minds, John encourages us to lean into God’s love. A love that–in truth!–brings us grace, mercy, and peace.

Fire In Our Hearts

In our Easter 2021 service, Mike leads us through song and scripture to prepare our hearts for our message from Mark. In the end, the truth that Christ is Risen rings loud for all to hear!
