No matter who you are, no matter what mess you’re in, no matter where you’ve come from, we are committed to the belief that when you open yourself up to God, true transformation is possible. God’s presence is not merely a promise for the next life. It is meant to be experienced here and now.

When God is the Mountain in your life, everything else is just weather. Through good times and difficult times, we will find that God stands firm and is always there. If you root yourself in God’s steady presence, God’s word can then go out through your role as God’s messenger.

God speaks of his people as a faithful remnant. Even if only small, we are rooted in God and grow in him, like a shoot from a stump. Our value and purpose in the world isn’t determined by our size, but by our source. When our life is rooted in God, then God’s love will be the fruit we produce.

Gods offer for grace and acceptance sounds great, but could it really be for me? God speaks through Isaiah 56 to everyone who feels like an outsider to let them know that his kingdom is especially a place to them.

It might be easy to think that in life, right and wrong are just a matter of whatever it is people think they can get away with. But the God we serve is holy and pure to a degree it’s difficult for us to even fathom. Isaiah’s vision of God is one that calls us to a higher level of personal integrity and compassion for others.

How could anyone ever do something as ridiculous as making an idol of wood, and then worshipping it as their god? In Isaiah 44, the prophet wrestles with the absurdity of the practice, but then directs us to some questions for us to ask of ourselves that might be a little harder to answer than we were expecting.

God can use absolutely anyone for good, regardless of our background or history. But for us to serve our call effectively, it is important to get a full grasp of who God is, to experience the grace of God in a meaningful way, and to have a realistic picture of what faithful ministry for God will be like.

Even though there are parts of our world–and even of our own lives–that seem to be going in circles, or perhaps even spiraling, God is alive and acting.
