Worship begins with God. Because God’s nature is that he is Spirit, Light, Love, and Holiness, we must therefore worship him with all of our Heart, Soul, Mind, and Strength. Worship is a response to God’s love for us. As far back as you can go to the origins of time, God is there. As far to the future as you can imagine, God is the one there waiting for you. He is our Ancient-Future King, and it is fitting that we begin each week in his presence, acknowledging who he is, and our place in relation to him as his children.

Proverbs 31 provides us with an unexpected hero: The Woman of Noble Character. By owning our nobility as Children of God, we find a healthy path forward. This is true for us as individuals, true as families, and true for us as the royal household of God.

Sometimes we need to be reminded of what we should already know. Though we all have our limits as human beings, when we are in Christ, we also have the help and power that God provides. Christ is the embodiment of true Wisdom.

We cannot leave it up to mere hope or chance that those who are younger in their faith will stumble across the right path. Like a loving parent, we need to disciple those who are vulnerable to help them find the path that leads to life.

Proverbs does not favor rich people or poor people… but NEVER does Proverbs have any use for LAZY people. There are only harsh words for those who hope to get by without working; for those who hope to sustain life without contributing to it.

In our continuing series on the book of Proverbs, Mark discusses what or to whom we give our vital energy.

To walk the path that leads to life, we must give great care to keeping ourselves on the path. Much of what we become spiritually begins with what we do physically. Your heart, eyes, mouth, hands, and feet all play a part in guiding your destiny. This message draws on wisdom from Proverbs 4.

Wisdom is all about relationships. From the time we are young, it is how we interact with the rest of the world that determines our potential and our impact. We must be wise in how we treat both ourselves and each other.

Discipline doesn’t always feel much like love, yet it is one of the ways God shows us we are especially favored. Proverbs 3 walks us through the steps a person must take if they wish to enter a life of blessing, followed with the ways God responds to us when we choose this path.

If you seek God, you’ll receive wisdom. If you seek true wisdom, you’ll end up finding God. All wisdom is a gift from God, yet when we receive it, we find ourselves equipped to avoid many painful situations, and well-grounded to endure what we can’t avoid. To forget our devotion to God is to build a house with a leaky roof on a collapsing foundation.
